In-home Newborn Photography Sessions

I get lots of enquiries about whether I shoot newborn photography sessions in a studio or at home - almost all of my newborn photo shoots are done in your own home! Investing in newborn photographs can be a tricky decision to make, of course you want beautiful pictures of your baby but really, will it all just be a bit too hard? I completely understand that those early days can be so stressful, I have 3 little children of my own :-) So I know from experience that keeping your photography session as easy and straightforward as possible makes a world of difference to your experience and to the photos at the end. When we plan your photography session at home you wont need to worry about leaving the house on time, whether the baby will cry in the car, bringing extra clothes for everybody, will they get cold? Throw up? Have a nightmare nappy blowout?!!!! When you feel comfortable and relaxed in your own environment, your pictures will be 10000x better!

“Do I need to have wraps and things ready for you? What do I need to do???”

I will bring absolutely everything necessary to get beautiful, naturally posed photographs of you and your baby. I have everything from a posing bag to a selection of gorgeous wraps, outfits and hand-knitted angora wool baby bloomers. I will bring sheer curtains, a lighting set-up (just in case but I very rarely need it), and white noise, all you need to do is feed baby right before I arrive and I will do the rest!

Below is my newborn set-up in my very dark and cramped home office/spare bedroom, as you can see, I need very little - just a bit of space near a bright window.

And here are some of my newborn sessions, all taken using exactly this set-up in a wide variety of homes - some very big and bright, some much darker and cosier.
