What to wear for your session

Now, Im not your mother and I am most certainly not here to tell you what you can and can’t wear! Photographs should capture the essence of who you are, not my idea of how you should look. But often, people can feel nervous about their session and giving a little guidance on what looks great in front of my lens and what to avoid, can help you feel more comfortable and confident.

Generally, my recommendation is that you all dress in something relatively "neutral" or stick to softer, earthy tones - think cream, beige, sand, rust, ochre and softer blues or greens. Stripes, checks, dots and prints are fine but anything with slogans or cartoon characters will date very quickly and can overwhelm the details of your gorgeous faces. Wearing similar colour groups and co-ordinating outfits looks wonderful but I strongly recommend that you avoid matching outfits and PLEASE please avoid really bright colours!! Bright and neon colours can make your skin tone look very odd and throw off the colour balance completely. Maxi dresses are wonderful as they add movement and wrap dresses are ideal for maternity shoots. Above all, keep it simple and choose something that makes you feel beautiful and comfortable! Ive put together a pinterest board with a few ideas here

I have a client wardrobe available for mums (and a few lovely pieces for little girls in sizes 000 to 5). Most of my womens pieces are sized to fit from size 8-18 and are bump and feeding friendly, all of my items are free for you to borrow! Check out my range here

Taking the time to fix your hair and makeup (if youre comfortable wearing it) makes a world of difference and natural looking false lashes look wonderful on camera. Oh and dont stress about dark circles or blemishes, Im very happy to fix them up when I edit, please just ask!!
